Close off places such as critical watersheds, key biodiversity areas, small islands, and others from mining to conserve nature.

Create local councils comprising affected communities and local governments to decide on mining projects.

Increase taxes on mining, to help fund local development
projects that will lift people out of poverty.

Increase penalties for mining violations.
Create a plan for which minerals to mine, and for what development goal, including transition minerals for the shift to clean energy.
