Goals

The SIPA aims to contribute to the movement building among the indigenous peoples in the pursuit of their collective rights and local autonomy particularly in the control, management and development of their ancestral domains and resources therein.
General Objectives of the SIPA

1.   Gather a broader section of indigenous communities in Mindanao and Luzon to assess their situations;

2.   Provide the venue for indigenous communities to witness, analyze and critique GMA’s SONA;

3.   Deepen the understanding of the Right to Self-Determination and identify strategies for its assertion and protection;

4.  And to publicly voice out the genuine State of the Indigenous Peoples Affairs.

Desired Outcomes and Outputs

1.   A statement on the State of the Indigenous Peoples Affairs that will also outline concrete recommendations.

2.   Event proceedings.

3.   A public event where indigenous leaders will present their SIPA.

4.   Active tri-media coverage.

5.   Invited support groups, NGOs, church organizations, the academe, media, IP advocates and activists will have deeper understanding on the Right to Self-Determination.

6.   A statement of support from invited support groups, NGOs, church organizations, the academe, media, IP advocates and activists.
